UConn men’s basketball a ophomore center Donovan Clingan will miss 3-4 weeks after suffering an injury to a tendon in his right foot, according to the school. Clingan injured his foot early in the second half of the Huskies’ Big East opener, a surprising 75-60 loss at Seton Hall.

Clingan scored 14 points with seven rebounds in just 14 minutes against Seton Hall before exiting with his injury. The Bristol big man dominated a game prior against No. 10 Gonzaga, scoring 21 points with eight rebounds, three assists and two blocks.

After taking some time to get up to game speed after a preseason foot injury, Clingan seemed to be rounding into shape and establishing himself as one of the top big men in the country. He’s averaging 13.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game this season and remains one of the top offensive rebounders in the country.

Assuming Clingan can return in the allotted timeframe, a four-week recovery window would give Clingan a chance at returning some time around the Huskies’ home matchup against Creighton on Jan. 17 or a road matchup against Villanova on Jan. 20 at the Wells Fargo Center.
