What Are UConn's basketball title odds

College basketball season has been over for a bit and the transfer portal is, sort of, winding down and now it is great time to look ahead to see what the basketball odds checker are saying about the favorite for next year.

Kansas is the favorite to win it all. It would be the first time college basketball sees a repeat champion since Florida achieved that feat in 2006 and ‘07. Following the Jayhawks are Gonzaga and then Kentucky and Arizona. UConn is no where to be seen.

Gonzaga is a +1200 second favorite, with Arizona and Kentucky also +1500 with Duke. It's very hard to handicap NCAA basketball futures this early until players decide if they are turning pro or transferring – and which players might transfer in. Gonzaga is definitely losing star freshman center Chet Holmgren as he may be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

  • Kansas +1000
  • Gonzaga +1200
  • Kentucky +1500
  • Arizona +1500
  • Duke +1500
  • Arkansas +1600
  • Houston +1800
  • UCLA +1800
  • North Carolina +1800
  • Baylor +1800
AS for the Huskies, they will have a really different looking roster with so many players hitting the portal, so their odds are not going to be all that great. There are some freshman who could make a difference and earn a lot of playing time for this upcoming year.

- Javonte Brown transferred out before January of 2021
- Brendan Adams in his freshman year averaged 12.7 minutes per game
- Isaiah Whaley played in 13.8 mpg his freshman year
- Mamadou Diarra appeared in 30 games and averaged 10 minutes per game

Samson Johnson also has a chance to step up. He played very little so it is really difficult to know how good he could be. His best game this past year was playing 20 minutes and scoring just five points against Grambling State. He played just 5.2 minutes per game which is the lowest of any non walk-on over the past five years with the Huskies. Look for Johnson to get ample opportunities
