With Randy Edsall out as the coach for the UConn Huskies football team, interim head coach Lou Spanos has released his depth chart for the Purdue game on Saturday.

During his weekly Sunday call, Edsall, before being let go on Monday, had alluded to some changes on the depth chart. Those came to bear this week even with the head coaching change.

  • Steven Krajewski takes over as the starting quarterback for Jack Zergiotis, who assumes backup duties.
  • Edsall had previously also talked about Christopher Fortin being the starting center had he not been injured. Now that he is healthy, he moves ahead of Sidney Walker on the depth chart.
  • With Cam Ross most likely lost for the 2021 season with a broken foot, Jahkai Gil will take over for Ross as one of the starting wide receivers. Gil is also listed as the top punt returner on the two-deep.
  • With Gil being a starter at wide receiver and punt returner, Aaron Turner will back him up at both positions and Kevens Clercius moves into the backup spot wide receiver spot behind Cam Hairston.
  • Miami (FL) transfer Robert Burns falls off the depth chart as Nate Carter is listed as Kevin Mensah’s backup. The pair had been in a “OR” situation as the backup last week.
