UConn men’s hockey will open the second edition of Connecticut Ice Festival against Yale on Saturday, Jan. 29, 2022 at 3:30 p.m., SNY announced.

The tournament, which pits all four Division I men’s hockey programs in the state against each other, will be held at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport. The consolation game will take place on Sunday, Jan. 30 at 1:00 p.m. with the championship set for 4:30 p.m. later that day.

UConn and Yale have not met since the last CT Ice Festival in 2020 (the tournament was not held last season due to COVID). Despite outshooting the Bulldogs 44-24, the Huskies fell 3-2. Overall, UConn is 1-14-0 against Yale with the lone win coming during the 2018-19 season.

During the inaugural CT Ice, UConn lost to Quinnipiac in the opening round, 3-2 and Sacred Heart defeated the Bobcats to claim the first-ever trophy.

UConn begins the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 2 against Sacred Heart at the XL Center.
