The matchups for the 2021 Battle 4 Atlantis have been announced. The tournament will kick off at noon on Wednesday, November 24th when Michigan State takes on Loyola Chicago. Then UConn will play Auburn at 2:30 p.m. ET.
The next day, on Thanksgiving, UConn will play either Michigan State or Loyola Chicago game that will tip-off at noon or 2:30 p.m. ET, depending on the first day’s results.
On the other side of the bracket, VCU will open against Syracuse, and then defending national champions Baylor will play Arizona State in an evening doubleheader on November 24th. ASU is coached by Bobby Hurley, brother of UConn head coach Dan Hurley.
This will be the Huskies’ third Battle 4 Atlantis after previously participating in 2015 and 2011.
Aside from Syracuse, UConn does not have much history with this year’s field. The Huskies are 1-2 all-time against Auburn with the last meeting, a blowout loss, coming in 2017. UConn is 4-3 against Michigan State, 2-2 against ASU, 1-0 against both VCU and Baylor, and has never played Loyola Chicago.
