NCAA Womens Basketball: South Carolina at Connecticut David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

For the first time this season, UConn women’s basketball played a top-ranked opponent and it sure didn’t disappoint.

First, we give our immediate post-game reactions to UConn’s overtime win over South Carolina, break down another phenomenal performance by Bueckers and talk about her incredible game-clinching 3-pointer.

After that, we discuss Dawn Staley’s ridiculous postgame comment about how playing with a Nike ball vs. a Wilson ball affected South Carolina’s guards. We also wonder about Evina Westbrook’s status and examine how UConn’s junior class played on Monday as well.

We also get into why the FS1 ratings for the game weren’t a surprise and how Bueckers is starting to become a household name for people who aren’t even fans of women’s basketball.

Next, we look back at the win over Marquette and examine how it proved to be a good dress rehearsal for the Huskies’ win over South Carolina. We close by comparing the Big East to the AAC while previewing UConn’s upcoming games against Seton Hall and Georgetown.
