UConn men’s hockey will play the Merrimack Warriors this weekend, Hockey East announced on Tuesday. The league is scheduling games week-by-week throughout the end of the regular season.

The Huskies will travel to North Andover, Massachusetts on Friday, Jan. 29 for a 3:00 p.m. puck drop before hosting the Warriors on Saturday, Jan. 30 for another 3:00 p.m. matchup.

For as tough of a schedule as UConn has played (all but one opponent has been ranked), Merrimack’s slate has been just as difficult. The Warriors (2-7-1) started their season by playing then-No. 8 UMass, No. 17 Northeastern, and No. 3 Boston College within their first eight games.

The two teams come into this weekend having faced off 38 times, including 11 as Hockey East foes, with Merrimack holding a commanding all-time edge over UConn. The Warriors come in with a dominant 29-5-4 record against the Huskies and claimed two of three matchups against the Huskies last season.
