UConn men’s hockey has been cleared to return to action and will play two games against the UNH Wildcats on Jan. 15 and 16, the school announced on Tuesday.

The Huskies paused all team activities last Wednesday after a member of the program tested positive for COVID-19. However, continuous testing revealed it to be a false positive. Since the team has continued to test negative, medical personnel have allowed UConn to resume play.

Now, the Huskies will prepare for their third and fourth straight game against UNH. UConn will host the Wildcats on Friday, Jan. 15 for a 3 p.m. puck drop before traveling to Durham on Saturday, Jan. 16 for a 5 p.m. start.

The two teams just squared less than two weeks ago when the Huskies claimed a 2-1 win at UNH on New Years’ Day before dropping a 2-1 overtime decision at Freitas Ice Forum the next day. UConn was scheduled to play Northeastern last weekend before the false positive test forced a pause.
