UConn football lands duo of three-stars from Jacksonville, Florida

The UConn coaching staff is hard at work in the Sunshine State.

UConn football has been ablaze on the recruiting trail this month, landing their eighth commit of the class of 2021 on Saturday, tight end Christopher Johnson.

Johnson, from Jean Ribault High School in Jacksonville, Florida, is considered a three-star recruit by both Rivals and 247 Sports. At the time of his UConn commitment, Johnson held offers from Miami (yes, that one), Rutgers and Virginia Tech, as well as several other G5 schools.

Johnson is 6-2, 210 lbs, and played defensive end in high school in addition to tight end, but looks like a good-enough athlete to play all over the field.

The UConn coaching staff seem to be using their free time to pitch rising seniors on the program, and you can expect the commitments to keep coming until the ramp-up to the season — whatever that will look like.

Update:

UConn football just keeps on churning out verbals from 2021 recruits, this time securing the commitment of defensive end Langston Hardy.

Hardy is another Jacksonville, Florida recruit, this time from across town at Episcopal School. He stands 6-3, 220 lbs and currently plays at both the defensive end and outside linebacker positions.

Hardy is rated a three-star recruit by Rivals, and held offers from Georgia Tech, Maryland and Wake Forest, along with former AAC rivals Navy, South Florida and Coastal Carolina.

Just like UConn was on a Texas recruiting swing for the first part of the recruiting cycle, it seems like the Huskies are hitting north Florida right now.
