After college sports made a sudden shift into off-season mode, the UConn athletic department has shifted its focus to the Big East and making football independence work. Even during this global health crisis, David Benedict and his team are making progress.

Sports may have stopped but there’s plenty going on in the world of Husky athletics, including a new TV deal, basketball recruiting wins, and a lot to look forward to with the move to the Big East. Also, Geno’s doing live shows on Instagram, what a time to be alive!

To help catch us up on what the Big East has been up to over the past seven years, we spoke with Robert O’Neill, manager of Big East Coast Bias, SB Nation’s Big East site. He was kind enough to share his insight on men’s and women’s hoops as well the Big East-Fox television experience, overall league moods and more.
