UConn huskies forward Sidney Wilson has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules. The news was first reported by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein and later confirmed in a statement by UConn.

Wilson’s suspension leaves the Huskies with seven scholarship players heading into Saturday’s matchup at East Carolina.

The redshirt sophomore averaged 3.6 points and 2.1 rebounds this season, appearing in 21 games. It is unclear whether Wilson traveled with the team to Greenville, North Carolina for the matchup agains the Pirates.

Season-ending injuries to Tyler Polley and Akok Akok had already left the Huskies thin at the forward position. Wilson’s suspension will add extra pressure to the two active big men, Isaiah Whaley and Josh Carlton.
