If you’re a UConn fan and scored a copy of NBA 2k21 in September, you may have gone straight to MyPlayer career mode, where the game gives you an option to pick UConn as your college and play games in Gampel Pavilion.
What you might not have noticed, however, is UConn’s new uniforms, hiding in plain sight.

Their in-game uniforms feature new red accents on the sleeves and collar, as well as a large stripe with “HUSKIES” on the shorts. These uniform changes were confirmed on Saturday by the UConn men’s basketball team account, as new photos began to leak on Instagram during the Huskies’ photo day.

Review
The jerseys could be some of my favorite UConn basketball threads of all time. The Huskies always look sharper when there’s a bit of red to accentuate the blue, and the collar/sleeves remind me of their Ray Allen-era jerseys.

The shorts, on the other hand, are another story. You’re doing too much. I’m fine with the bold blue stripe, but there’s no red to be found, and the vertical “HUSKIES” text is not my favorite. Oh well, you can’t win ‘em all. At least they appear to be a nod to the Huskies’ early days in the original Big East.
The red piping is reminiscent of UConn's uniforms when they first joined the Big East, and in the late 1980s. pic.twitter.com/oGfmc9l0vi
