Big East virtual media day tipped-off Wednesday morning and even though the UConn men’s basketball team couldn’t make their presence felt in New York City, the conference’s coaches are showing some respect for the Huskies.

UConn was picked to finish fourth in their first season back in the Big East since the 2012-13 season. Only Villanova, Creighton and Providence were ranked ahead of them. The fourth-place ranking is the highest Big East preseason coaches poll ranking for the Huskies since they were projected to win the conference heading into the 2011-12 season.

Here’s the full 2020-21 Big East Coaches’ Poll. First place votes are in parentheses.

  1. Villanova Wildcats (9)
  2. Creighton Bluejays (2)
  3. Providence Friars
  4. UConn Huskies
  5. Seton Hall Pirates
  6. Marquette Golden Eagles
  7. Xavier Musketeers
