Head coach Dan Hurley told reporters that the school was looking for a game on Dec. 7. It was reported on Friday afternoon that a game with Richmond could be in the works for Monday by Andy Katz but was shot down quickly thereafter by Dave Borges of Hearst Connecticut media. Borges added that a game against any opponent was unlikely at this point.
Potential top 25 game Monday: @SpiderMBB (No. 19 currently) at @UConnMBB (I believe would be ranked if it beats @PackMensBball Saturday) if Richmond tests come back negative Saturday and all medical staffs deem game safe. Richmond postponed 2 games this week due to COVID issues.

Sorry to bust your bubble, but very well-placed source says game on Monday against Richmond -- or anybody -- is "highly unlikely."

The Connecticut Department of Health will not allow UConn to have fans in attendance for basketball games for at least the start of the season. Rumors quickly circulated that the Huskies were exiting the Legends Classic, but Borges said that Mohegan Sun expects the Huskies to be there in early December at this time. When the Legends Classic announced the date change from Dec. 2 and 3 to Dec. 1 and 3 they still had UConn in the tournament, so it looks like they’ll be staying.
