UConn Huskies baseball released its 2020 schedule on Monday afternoon, featuring the debut of its new home field, Elliot Ballpark. The Huskies will open up their new home on March 29 against Seton Hall, the first of 16 games in the ballpark.

Elliot Ballpark will also play host to home conference series against their even-year murderer’s row of UCF (April 9-11), ECU (April 17-19), Houston (May 1-3) and Tulane (May 14-17). The Huskies will only play two games in Dunkin’ Donuts Park next year, on May 1 against Houston and May 14 against the Green Wave.

UConn will start 2020 with a double-dose of College World Series Final participants. Its first taste of action will take place in the MLB4 Tournament in Scottsdale, Arizona on Feb. 14 against Vanderbilt, Michigan and Cal Poly, following it up with a three-game series against the Wolverines in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

“I’m not sure anyone in America could have a more challenging early season schedule than we have in 2020,” said head coach Jim Penders in the release. ”Before we see March, we’ll have played the national champion and the national runner-up five times total.”

UConn will open conference play, their last in the American, away at Cincinnati on March 20. Its away conference series will take place against USF on April 3-5, Memphis on April 24-26 and Wichita State from May 8-10. Away non-conference series include Presbyterian, Monmouth and New Orleans.

Home midweek games for UConn include Stony Brook (scheduled as the first home night game in UConn history), Bryant, UMass, Rhode Island and Army, along with making the return trip to Rhode Island and West Point.
