Less than a week before the respective UConn soccer seasons begin, the Huskies’ two teams finally have a home. On Monday, the school announced that nearly all the men’s and women’s soccer games will be played at Dillon Stadium in the south end of Hartford, currently the home to Hartford Athletic in the USL Championship.

However, the teams will not start their seasons at Dillon Stadium. Instead, the women’s team will play its first two games at Al-Marzook Field on the University of Hartford campus while the men’s team will play one exhibition and its first two regular season games there.

Dillon Stadium does not yet have lights due to some construction delays and while Athletic has been playing in the stadium during the day, men’s soccer coach Ray Reid wanted to keep his team’s games at night.

UConn women’s soccer will play its first game at Dillon on Sunday, Sep. 8 against Boston University while the men’s team’s first game will come on Tuesday, Sep. 17 vs. Manhattan College.

The women’s team’s games at UHart will be Sunday, Aug. 25 against Fairfield and Sunday Sep. 1 vs. Colgate. The men will play there on Saturday, Aug. 24 vs BU (exhibition), Friday Aug. 30 vs. Rider and Friday, Sep. 6 vs. FDU.

Dillon Stadium, rebuilt this past year, holds 5,500 seats. General admission tickets for the women’s games are $5 while GA men’s tickets will be $6.

The Huskies’ soccer teams are off-campus for the season due to construction of the new Morrone Stadium at Rizza Family Soccer Complex, which is on-track to be completed for the 2020 season. Despite playing in Hartford this season, the school will play all its games at the new stadium once it opens.
