Former UConn Huskies women’s basketball star Napheesa Collier returned to the state where she honed her skills in college for the first time as a professional basketball player on Saturday afternoon.
She played a vital role as the Minnesota Lynx handed the Connecticut Sun their first home defeat of the 2019 WNBA season, 74-71,
Collier played over 32 minutes and had 10 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Her freshman mentor while at UConn, the Sun’s Morgan Tuck, hit her only three-pointer of the afternoon in limited action.
