The Huskies fall to their lowest position in over a decade.

After falling to No. 3 Louisville last Thursday, UConn women’s basketball dropped to No. 5 in the latest AP Poll. It is the Huskies’ lowest ranking since they were ranked fifth back in Feb. 2007.

In addition to the Louisville loss this past week, the Huskies picked up an unconvincing 65-55 win over Cincinnati.

Baylor maintains the top spot while Louisville leaped to No. 2, the position previously held by UConn. Oregon rose one spot to No. 3 while Notre Dame is ranked No. 4. Only Baylor and Louisville received first-place votes.

Looking back at the poll from Feb. 2007, the four teams ahead of UConn (from 1-4) were Duke, UNC, Tennessee and Ohio State. The top 10 was rounded out by Maryland, LSU, George Washington, Stanford and Arizona State. In addition to GW, there was a mid-major flair in the poll, with Middle Tennessee (No. 17), Bowling Green (18) and James Madison (25) all ranked. View the entire poll here.
