UConn men’s basketball forward Kwintin Williams has been suspended indefinitely for a violation of team rules, the school announced on Wednesday. The senior did not make the trip with the team to USF.
Williams is the third player to be suspended this season. Jalen Adams was suspended for the Huskies’ secret scrimmage against Harvard for a violation of team rules as well. Sid Wilson also missed that scrimmage and the six games of the season due to a “violation of university policy.”
UConn won’t miss Williams too much as the Anchorage, Alaska native has appeared in just seven of 13 games, averaging 3.3 minutes per game. He also missed a handful of games earlier in the season due to an illnes.
The school also announced that forward Kassoum Yakwe is a game-time decision against USF with a right foot sprain. The graduate transfer missed most of the preseason with a foot injury, though it is unclear at this time if the two injuries are related.
