UConn Huskies football coach Randy Edsall has put out his depth chart for Saturday night’s game vs Boise State and there are a few changes from week one.
One major change from the depth chart against UCF is that there are now four defensive line positions listed. Last week, there were only three. With that change, there are now only two linebacker spots listed along with the Husky LB/S hybrid position.
Defensively, freshman Jonathan Pace moves out of an “OR” situation at defensive end with James Atkins and is now the starter. Caleb Thomas moves to the second defensive tackle spot as the starter with Ryan Fines as his backup. At other defensive end, freshman Lwal Uguak is now the starter and is backed up by AJ Garson.
With the change to two linebackers, Eli Thomas moves into an “OR” situation with Darrian Beavers with Eddie Hahn no longer listed on the two-deep. At cornerback, Ryan Carroll flips spots with Keyshawn Paul and is now the starter. Also, Messiah Turner is now the backup for Tyler Coyle instead of Jalon Ferrell
On the offensive side of things, Kevin Mensah is now atop the depth chart at running back. Zavier Scott is listed as the backup in an “OR” situation with freshman Khyon Gillespie from Hartford.
