At last week’s American Athletic Conference Media Day, one of the topics UConn Huskies football head coach was most passionate about was his leadership council. This council features 13 players assigned to various parts of team ranging from offense to academics and handling the freshmen class.

Edsall believes the leadership council is so important that he had the representatives from the three most important units - Matt Peart from the offense, Marshé Terry from the defense and Donovan Williams from special teams - represent the Huskies players at media day.

The three student-athlete representatives at media day also weighed on the importance of the council and what their day-to-day roles entail.
