UConn Football Picked to Finish Fifth in AAC East

The Huskies eke out ahead of East Carolina in the East Divison

American Athletic Conference media day is officially underway this morning as the conference announced the preseason media poll, with UConn predicted to finish fifth out of six teams in the East Division.

The Huskies earned 51 points in the poll, the third fewest amount but ahead of West Division Tulsa (44) and East Carolina, who earned 41 points and brings up the rear in the East.

UConn opens their 2018 season against UCF, who earned 175 points, 25 first-votes and is the favorite to win the American Championship. The Huskies take on the Knights to kick off their 2018 season on Thursday, August 30 in the latest installment of the ConFLiCT.

Aside from UCF, USF received five first-place votes in the East. Memphis is the favorite in the West with 23 first-place votes, with Houston (four votes) and Navy (three) also receiving votes.
