UConn’s Samuelson, Williams Repeat As WBCA All-Americans

For the second-straight year, UConn Huskies senior Gabby Williams and junior Katie Lou Samuelson have been named to the WBCA All-American Team. Teammates Napheesa Collier, Kia Nurse and Azura Stevens earned honorable mention All-American honors.

Samuelson is averaging a team-high 17.5 points this season and shooting 47.4 percent from the 3-point line while adding 4.5 rebounds per game. She also ranks sixth in the country in true-shooting percentage at 68.2 percent.

Williams leads the Huskies with 184 assists on the season and is shooting 60.9 percent from the field. She also is averaging 11.1 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while continuing to be a force on the defensive end, leading UConn with 86 steals.

After being named the WBCA Defensive Player of the Year, Nurse earned honorable mention honors after shooting 44.9 percent from the 3-point line and averaging 13.6 points per game. Stevens is third on the team in scoring with 14.6 points in just over 20 minutes per game as the Huskies’ first option off the bench. She also leads the team with 73 blocks.

Collier is second on the team in scoring and leads UConn with 7.5 rebounds per game. She was a WBCA All-American last year in her sophomore season.
