With a 71-46 win over Quinnipiac in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, the UConn women’s basketball team advanced to the program’s 25th-consecutive Sweet Sixteen.
While some would say that consistency is a tribute to Geno Auriemma’s ability to recruit and develop players year in and year out, critics say it’s due to a lack of competition in women’s basketball because the Huskies get all the good players.
When asked about that idea before UConn’s game versus Duke, Auriemma took exception to that notion and responded to it with his famous sarcasm.
