Before Tuesday’s media availability, UConn Huskies head coach Randy Edsall released his depth chart for Saturday’s game against SMU and there were some minor changes. But the bigger news to his two-deep came during his weekly press conference.
During the press conference, Edsall announced that freshmen linebacker Kevon Jones would miss the final three games of the 2018 season as the head coach wants him to focus on his academics. Edsall also stated that Marvin Washington will lead the scout team for the final three games and will not backup David Pindell the rest of the way.
This means that Brandon Bisack and Steven Krajewski will take snaps at quarterback during practice and one of them will be Pindell’s backup the rest of the season.
The minor changes to the two-deep come on defense and special teams.
On defense, Kevin Murphy replaces Philippe Okounam as the backup to Travis Jones at defensive tackle. While on special teams, the triple “OR” situation at kicker is over as Michael Tarbutt and Clayton Harris are in the “OR” situation there.
