UConn Men’s Basketball: Preseason 2018-19 AAC Blogger Poll Released

Where do the Huskies rank according to the conference’s top blogs?

This season, the blogs that cover the American Athletic Conference members will come together to rank the teams in the AAC. The preseason poll was released Tuesday night and consists of seven voters, including The UConn Blog’s own Aman Kidwai.

Here are the results from the first poll of the year! First place votes in parentheses.

  1. Cincinnati Bearcats (5)
  2. UCF Knights (1)
  3. Houston Cougars (1)
  4. Wichita State Shockers
  5. Memphis Tigers
  6. UConn Huskies
  7. SMU Mustangs
  8. Temple Owls
  9. Tulsa Golden Hurricane
  10. Tulane Green Wave
  11. East Carolina Pirates
  12. South Florida Bulls

Perhaps unsurprisingly, there’s a lot of variance with UConn as the voters try to gauge the impact Hurley will have on a team that’s largely the same as last year’s squad. The Huskies were one of six teams to earn a vote for fourth place, and received votes for as high as fourth place and as low as ninth.
