Dan Hurley and UConn took down the No. 15 Syracuse Orange last night at Madison Square Garden in one of most memorable wins of the past few years. The game was filled with memorable moments, including some usual energy from Hurley, a big game from Eric Cobb and some confirmation that Alterique Gilbert is healthy and thriving.
Cobb was a monster all night against the Orange, scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. He stepped up on defense too, taking a big charge and getting some love from Jalen Adams.
Cobb didn't just do damage in the post, he was able to step out and drain some 3-pointers like he did at times last season. His inside-out ability caused headaches for the Orange all night long.
Late in the game, Gilbert put the game on ice with deep 3-pointer from well beyond NBA range. He finished the game with 18 points, eight assists and six rebounds to help lead the Huskies to victory, and it’s easy to see how much better this UConn team is when he’s healthy and playing well.

Hurley’s sideline antics are quickly gaining notoriety online, with this GIF in particular blowing up on Twitter and Reddit. After his first big win as head coach at UConn, Hurley was pretty fired up and showed his emotions with Adams before calming down to shake hands with Boeheim.
Hurley loves to pump up the crowd during games, and in front of a great pro-UConn crowd at MSG, he let fans know to give this team a round of applause for their impressive performance.
