Almost a week after announcing a new home-and-home series with Oregon, UConn women’s basketball continues to lock down future non-conference opponents.
SNY’s Carl Adamec reported a pair of home-and-home series for the Huskies in the next two seasons.
The Huskies will extend their series with the Baylor Bears for two years, with UConn hosting in 2019-20 before traveling to Texas in 2020-21.
Megan Walker will also get a homecoming game thanks to a new series with the Virginia Cavaliers. The Hoos will travel to Connecticut during the 2019-20 season before the Huskies make the trip to Charlottesville for the 2020-21 season. Walker is a native of Chesterfield, Virginia, just under 90 minutes away from UVA.
The final member of UConn’s sophomore class, Mikayla Coombs, is from Georgia and will likely get a homecoming game as well.
Other known future non-conference opponents include home games against Oregon, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Cal along with a road games at Vanderbilt (Crystal Dangerfield’s homecoming), Dayton, DePaul, Ohio State, Seton Hall and South Carolina in 2019-20. UConn will hit the road to face Tennessee, Oklahoma and Cal the year after. The Huskies will complete their series with Oregon in 2021-22 after a one-year gap.
The Huskies’ 2019-20 home slate projects to be one of the best home schedules in the program’s history.
4. That sets up probably the best home non-league schedule in @UConnWBB history in 2019-20 with Baylor, California, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, and Virginia.
