UConn’s Depth Chart for USF
Fun with Numbers:
10.2 - Average number of tackles by Tyler Coyle, which leads the American.
8 - Number of undefeated teams left in FBS, which includes American Athletic Conference members USF, UCF and Cincinnati.
6 - Number of undefeated teams that UConn has played at the time of game, including this weekend’s game. Memphis was the only one with a loss.
32 - Ranked teams UConn has played since moving to FBS, including this weekend’s game. They are just 3-28 against ranked opponents.
What to Watch For
UConn’s defense has been horrible this year, and it probably still will be to some degree this weekend. With a bye week, it might be possible for the Huskies to improve, especially with extra time to prepare for the Bulls. There’s also a lot of room to improve, as this team has allowed over 3,900 yards of total offense and 43 touchdowns, the latter of which is the second-highest total in FBS.
Containing Cronkrite
Against Memphis, Tigers running back Darrell Henderson showed why he is the NCAA’s rushing leader and a potential Heisman Trophy candidate, rushing for 174 yards on just 14 attempts and scoring three touchdowns. USF has their own dynamic running back in Jordan Cronkrite, who ranks seventh in the country with 757 rushing yards this season. If Cronkrite can find holes like Henderson did against UConn, this game could get out of hand quickly.
Merrill Lynch University
It’s not related to football, but USF got a new logo a few weeks back, and it’s gotten a not-so-great reception so far. It also really looks like the Merrill Lynch logo, so it isn’t even that creative. This has nothing to do with football but a USF ad featuring this logo will probably rear its head during the broadcast. You’ve been warned.
Anybody else think the new USF logo looks like the Merrill Lynch logo? https://t.co/P6r7Q045wt @TB_Times pic.twitter.com/1QZzHpwmBB
