The UConn football team added a pair of commitments as defensive back Messiah Turner and running back Dante Black made their announcements on Twitter.

Turner, a native of Tampa, FL, is listed at 6-foot-1, 195 pounds. He is rated as a two-star prospect by Rivals and 247Sports and held an offer from Southern Miss with interest from Maryland, Kentucky, and USF.

Black is rated as a three-star prospect out of Snellville, GA, joining quarterback Steve Krajewski as the second three-star recruit out of Georgia in UConn’s 2018 recruiting class.

Listed at 5-foot-11, 200 pounds, Black held eight FBS offers, including Army, Air Force, and Tulane. During his senior season at Brookwood High School, he played in just three games but totaled 384 rushing yards on just 70 carries, good for 5.5 yards-per-carry.

With Turner and Black, the Huskies’ class of 2018 is now at 24 players.
