As usual, the UConn women’s basketball team has a small but strong recruiting class coming in next season. The Huskies’ only two recruits for 2018 - Christyn Williams and Olivia Nelson-Ododa - were just named two of 24 high school players in the country to play in the McDonald’s All-American Game.

Williams, the No. 1 player in the Class of 2018, will suit up for the West team in the McDonald’s All-American game on March 28. The 5-foot-11 point guard will be going head-to-head against her future teammate in Nelson-Ododa, who will be playing for the East.

Nelson-Ododa is currently the No. 5 prospect in the class of 2018 and is working her way back from a broken kneecap suffered last January. The 6-foot-4 post player visited UConn with Williams, and after Williams officially became a Husky on Nov. 10, shemade her commitment five days later.

Baylor leads the way with four recruits selected as McDonald’s All-Americans, followed by Tennessee with three. Florida State, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech and Texas join UConn with two recruits each. Charli Collier - who verbally committed to UConn before flipping to sign with Texas - is one of the two McDonald’s All-Americans headed to Texas next season.
