UConn Football and Men’s Soccer each played on Saturday and while the football team couldn’t quite complete their comeback against East Carolina, men’s soccer took their show on the road for the first time in a 2-0 victory over Temple in Philadelphia.

As a result, two men’s soccer players and a football player earned weekly honors from the American Athletic Conference on Monday.

Scott Levene, the redshirt senior goalkeeper for the Huskies won goalkeeper of the week for his seven-save, clean sheet performance against the Owls. He tied a career-high in saves on Saturday as well.

Junior forward Abdou Mbacke Thiam scored his fifth goal of the season on Saturday and is tied for the conference lead. It proved to be the game-winner and he has all but two of UConn’s seven goals this year. He was named The American’s offensive player of the week for his effort.

Quarterback Bryant Shirreffs was named to the five-man honor roll for his 406-yard, three touchdown performance against East Carolina.
