UConn (-4.5) vs. ECU, O/U 66
Pick: UConn covers and the over. All Randy Edsall does is pound the ball and as bad as UConn has been, they actually have done decent running the ball in their two games. ECU’s rush D is awful. James Madison carried the ball averaged 9.6 yards per carry on 44 attempts! West Virginia ran the ball 47 times for 4.5 yards a carry against them. Virginia Tech ran the ball 62 times and averaged 4.6 yards per carry. Safe to say UConn could average 4.5 yards a carry. The crazy part is ECU gives up 11.8 yards per pass, 11.9, and 8.7 (to James Madison), so the ECU D is just bad. UConn and ECU are giving up 537 yards and 634 yards per game this season. OVER OVER OVER.
Give me the Huskies -4.5. I loved the over at 60, but it has gone up to 66 and that’s right around where I believe the game will end, but I’ll go over.
USF (-20) at Temple
Pick: USF covers. Temple was outgained by Villanova and UMass at home. Notre Dame put up 606 yards against them. QB Brandon Wimbush went 17 for 30 184 yards, 2 TDs, and 1 interception plus 12 carries for 106 yards and a TD. ND had two RBs rush for 124+ yards (plus the QB); USF had 3 guys rush for 100 yards last week against Illinois. This is revenge for last year’s loss, but last year was with Matt Rhule and without Quinton Flowers. Give me USF
Navy -11.5 vs. Cincinnati
Pick: Navy covers. Navy’s coming off of a bye. Cincy on their 3 straight road game. Navy is 14-6-1 ATS in conference games since 2013. Cincy got outgained by Austin Peay 313 (224 came on the ground)-248, but won the TO battle. Michigan outgained Cincy 414-200! Michigan averaged 5.2 yards a carry. Cincy only won against Miami-OH on a pick-6 with a 1 minute left. Navy played a team that runs the option and score 23 points, so they probably knew better than anyone how to stop it.. Navy only won by 2 against Tulane, but was -2 in turnovers. They are playing a team who doesn’t know how to stop the option as well. Cincy has averaged 20 points a game and Navy scored 23 against a team that practices against the option all the time. I’ll take Navy.
Army/Tulane, O/U 44.5
Pick: Under. Simple as two option-style teams. Tulane just played Navy to a low-scoring game. I think it is important if Tulane’s QB is still out. This game has dropped from 51 to 44.5, so someone agrees with me.
