UConn Men’s Basketball Releases Full 2017-2018 Schedule

Ian Bethune/The UConn Blog

On Friday, the American Athletic Conference released the conference schedule for the 2017-18 season and with it, UConn’s entire schedule was finalized.

Kevin Ollie and company put together a strong slate, with only two non-conference teams ranked below 250th on Ken Pomeroy’s rankings and five top-100 games.

The Huskies will play a 31-game regular season schedule, 15 of which are true home games. They will play four more neutral-site games, including the PK80 Tournament and the Jimmy V Classic.

UConn kicks off its regular season and nine-game slate at Gampel Pavilion on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. by hosting Colgate (268th in Ken Pomeroy’s rankings). They close the three-game home stand to begin the year with a pair of games against Stony Brook (214th) and Boston University (192nd) at the XL Center. The Huskies and Terriers played at XL Center last year.

From there, UConn heads out West for the PK80 Tournament the week of Thanksgiving. The Huskies’ first game will be against Oregon (10th) on Nov. 23 at 9 p.m. and either DePaul (184th) or Michigan State (40th) the following night. Their final game of the event comes on Nov. 26.

On Dec. 5, UConn returns to Madison Square Garden to play Syracuse (55th) in the second half of the Jimmy V Classic doubleheader, with a 9 p.m. tip off.

The Huskies will come out of their finals break with a two-game trip, with games at Arizona (18th) on Dec. 21 and Auburn (82nd) on Dec. 23.

UConn opens The American slate with new member Wichita State (8th) on Dec. 30 at the XL Center before heading to Oklahoma to take on Tulsa (144th) on Jan. 3 in the first game of the new year.

UConn gets a break from the conference schedule when former Big East rival Villanova (2nd) comes to the XL Center on Jan. 20 before SMU (11th) will clash with the Huskies at Gampel Pavilion on Jan. 25.

Febr. 10 could have UConn on College Gameday, as the Huskies travel to Kansas to play Wichita State, if both teams involved are playing well.

Tulsa comes to the XL Center on Febr. 15 as the last game at the Huskies’ home away from home before they head on the road for a pair of games against East Carolina on Feb. 18 and Cincinnati on Feb. 22.

UConn’s last two home games are both at Gampel Pavilion, as Memphis comes to town on Feb. 25 and Temple visits on Feb. 28. The final regular season game is on March 4 against Houston (52nd).
