The UConn football staff continued its hot streak on the recruiting trail as junior college linebacker Eli Thomas committed to the Huskies.
If you know my mother, you know she doesn't usually smile like this! How could I not commit?? #HuskyUp #impaCT18 pic.twitter.com/TiMudZzlFh

Thomas plays at Lackawanna community college, the same school that quarterback David Pindell played at. He recently told Storrs Central that he plans to graduate in December and enroll in January, so he’ll likely join the Huskies for spring practice next year. He will have two years of eligibility remaining when he gets to Storrs.
Listed at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, Thomas held offers from Central Connecticut, Sacred Heart, and Wagner. Syracuse and Buffalo had also expressed interest.
With Thomas’ commitment, UConn now has 15 players in the class of 2018. Thomas is the fifth linebacker to commit and the eighth defensive player overall. Randy Edsall and his staff have secured a slew of commitments across the past 10 days, adding eight confirmed since Sunday, July 23.
