On Wednesday, the Futures Collegiate Baseball League announced the 25-man all-prospect team which they will be sending to Worcester, Massachusetts to play the USA Collegiate National Team on July 11. There are two UConn players on the roster.

Incoming freshman right-handed pitcher Joe Simeone and rising senior outfielder Troy Stefanski will both be suiting up against teammate Tim Cate, a left-handed pitcher and rising junior.

Simeone joined the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs as a reliever after his high school season at Groton-Dunstable Regional High School on June 9 and has been nothing short of phenomenal.

He has pitched in 11 1/3 innings over 10 appearances and has been counted upon time and time again in high-leverage situations. He has a WHIP of 0.88, an ERA of 0.79 and batters have hit only .150 against him. He has struck out 23 batters to four walks and allowed just six hits. He has a 2-0 record and has six saves on the season.

Stefanski has been spending his summer on Martha’s Vineyard, playing for the Sharks and the island life has been good to him. He has a slash line of .342 AVG/.430 OBP/.570 SLG and is 10th in the league in batting average. His 27 hits are also tied for 10th in the Futures League, while his 10 doubles leads it.

He has registered a hit in seven of his last nine and has driven in 12 runs on the season and has scored the seventh-most runs, with 20.

The Futures League All-Prospect Team will be facing off against Tim Cate and Team USA on July 11 at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitton Field with a 7 p.m. first pitch. You can purchase tickets HERE.
