UConn Football Recruiting: WR Elijah Jeffreys Commits to Huskies

The Huskies add a wide receiver from Massachusetts to the commitment list.

Ian Bethune - The UConn Blog

For the second consecutive year, UConn football has picked up a quarterback from Massachusetts as Somerville High School announced Elijah Jeffreys has committed to the Huskies.

Listed at 6-foot-4, 190 pounds, Jeffreys is a left-handed quarterback with 4.45 speed. Despite this, he shows the ability to stay in the pocket and make the throws, only scrambling on designed plays or when the play collapses.

In addition to football, Jeffreys runs track, competing in the 4x800 meter relay. At the D2 State Championship meet, he ran a personal and team-best 23.4 split in the event.

With his athletic ability, it’s possible Jeffreys could switch to a different position once he gets to UConn.

UPDATE:

Rival’s Richie Schnyderite confirms that Jeffreys will play wide receiver at UConn. With his athleticism, he’s a name to watch in the future.
