UConn football adds another commitment for the class of 2018 as 3-star offensive lineman Travis Jones committed to the Huskies, according to GameTime CT.

A native of New Haven, CT, Jones held offers from Pitt, Boston College, Rutgers, Temple and Buffalo. He originally committed to Rutgers back in June, but de-comitted just a day later.

He is listed at 6-foot-5, 350 pounds but has great athleticism for his size. According to NJ.com, “Jones is massive but has the foot quickness of a smaller athlete, and big strong hands which aid him in controlling defenders he gets his hands on.”

Jones projects as a tackle at UConn, the same position he plays at Wilbur Cross High School. Last season as a junior he was a Second Team All-State and All-Conference selection.

With his commitment, the Huskies now have two 3-star prospects in the class of 2018 as Jones joins fellow in-stater Dillon Harris. He is also the fifth player from Connecticut to commit to UConn for the class of 2018.
