UConn football picked up a late addition to its 2017 team on Monday as wide receiver Zavier Scott announced his commitment to the Huskies.

Scott is listed at 6-foot-1, 198 pounds, and reportedly ran a 4.35 40-yard dash at Ohio State. As the son of a military member, Scott moved to Germany during his high school career and struggled to receive much attention from college coaches.
He held offers from Syracuse, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan and Ohio at the FBS level but had interest from Michigan and Ohio State. However at those schools, Scott would have needed to wait until Spring 2018 to enroll and chose to begin his career this fall instead.
As a wideout, Scott will bring some much-needed depth to the receiving corps this fall. He is the fourth 2017 player to commit this summer, joining RB Kevin Mensah and WR Kyle Buss on offense and JuCo LB Sterling Santana.
