On Monday, former UConn safety Obi Melifonwu appeared on the NFL Network Show “Good Morning Football”. The 2017 2nd round pick was asked to guess his Madden rating and to list his goals for his rookie campaign.

Melifonwu will never back away from a challenge and really wants to get on the field, even if it’s on special teams. All indications are he’ll have a chance to see the playing time early on.
“[I want to] get on the field and make an impact on special teams,” the Oakland Raiders rookie said. “I think that’s underrated in terms of the three phases.”
He also said that he wants to be Defensive Rookie of the Year.
“I set the bar high for myself,” Melifonwu said.
It’s definitely a great to see a UConn alumnus representing the school so well on the national stage. Given the positive reaction to his selection on the second night of the draft, Melifonwu could very well become the next impact NFL player from the Husky football program.
