UConn Men’s Basketball went 2-0 this week, making two second-half double-digit comebacks to get the best of Memphis at the XL Center and Temple on the road.
Jalen Adams was the backbone of those come-from-behind victories, scoring 17 in the second half against Memphis and getting the game-winner on Sunday against the Owls.

For his efforts, he was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Adams finished with 19 against Memphis on Thursday, adding six assists and two steals.
On Sunday in Philadelphia, he scored 13 points, second on the team behind Rodney Purvis. He added five assists while playing 38 of 40 minutes. He also had an important steal late, when UConn was down three with just over a minute to go. He was fouled at the other end and made his free throws to bring the Huskies to within one.
Elsewhere, on the women’s basketball team, Gabby Williams, earned an honor roll nod for her performance in two wins, over South Carolina and Tulane. She averaged 17.5 points, 14.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists over the two contests, playing all 40 minutes in each.
But that’s not all! On the baseball team, sophomore pitcher Tim Cate and freshman infielder Anthony Prato also earned spots on the conference honor roll after a 3-1 weekend against UMass Lowell to open the season.
Cate started Friday afternoon, pitching 7 1⁄3 innings. He had a career-high 13 strikeouts and scattered just two hits, allowing no runs.
Prato hit 6-for-11 on the weekend with a home run and a double, leading to a slash line of .545/.706/.909. He also was 5-for-5 stealing bases.
Baseball will be on the road against the Texas Longhorns this weekend, with all three games on the Longhorn Network.
Men’s basketball will play at Houston at 9 p.m. on Wednesday and at the XL Center against SMU at 12 p.m. on Saturday.
Women’s basketball plays at No. 25 Temple on Wednesday followed by their Senior Day on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Gampel Pavilion against Memphis.
