On National Signing Day, UConn played the recruiting game down to the wire and flipped QB Marvin Washington from UCF. A native of Orlando, Washington de-committed from UCF in late January.
Listed at 6-foot-1, 184 pounds, Washington fits the profile of a dual-threat quarterback that Rhett Lashlee is looking for. He is rated as a 2-star prospect by Rivals and Scout, and a 3-star prospect by 247sports.
He had interest from a host of schools including Florida Atlantic, Bowling Green, Eastern Kentucky, Kent State, Southern Miss, Toledo, Troy and Utah State along with some other FBS and FCS schools.
Washington is now the third quarterback in the class of 2017, joining freshman Jordan McAfee and JUCO transfer David Pindell. Along with Donovan Williams, the Huskies have a number of potential options under center for the near future and hopefully at least one will pan out.
He was also the final addition to the class of 2017, which tops out at 20 players. You can check out our full coverage of National Signing Day with our live blog.
