On Wednesday, the first early signing period for football commenced, bringing in 19 new players to the program, but on Thursday, 10 players left.
First reported by Mike Anthony of the Hartford Courant, Sheriden Lawley, Chris Britton, Brayden Brown, John Robinson IV, Aaron Garland, Chris Jean-Pierre, Bryan Coney, Brad Westmark, Ja'Kevious Vickers and Nick Zecchino will all not be suiting up with the Huskies in 2018.
Britton had 30 tackles as a linebacker in 2017 in 12 games, good for seventh on the team and will graduate after completing his redshirt junior season.
Lawley had eight solo tackles as a defensive lineman in his redshirt junior season. He will be graduating.
Robinson IV, a redshirt sophomore defensive back from Englewood, New Jersey, tweeted he would be transferring Dec. 6 after recording two tackles in five games. He landed at Tennessee State 10 days later.
Brown, a freshman defensive back from Cumberland, Maryland, had 21 solo tackles and 25 total tackles across nine games.
Westmark, a redshirt junior quarterback, did not see game action after transferring from Marist before the 2016 season. He graduated and will be pursuing employment opportunities beyond football.
Zecchino, a sophomore long snapper, has been home in New Jersey since at least Sept. 16 dealing with a health issue and will be transferring.
Garland, a redshirt sophomore defensive back, did not record any statistics in 10 games played. He is originally from Oak Grove, Illinois.
Coney, a redshirt sophomore wide receiver from Naugatuck, Connecticut, did not record any statistics in 2017.
Vickers is a running back from Belle Glade, Florida who has not recorded any statistics through his redshirt freshman season.
Jean-Pierre has not seen game action through his redshirt sophomore season. He is a defensive back from Deep River, Connecticut.
