As a native of East Hartford, Kevon Jones grew up nearby to Rentschler Field. On Wednesday, he officially signed his National Letter of Intent to UConn football, making it his home for the next few years.
Jones was the first player to join the Huskies class of 2018, committing back on March 4. This past season, Jones racked up 120 tackles and 11.0 tackles-for-loss in 10 games.
Listed at 6-foot-2, 215 pounds, Jones is rated as a two-star prospect by Rivals. He held one other offer from Boston College. Jones is one of two linebackers in the Huskies’ recruiting class, along with Hunter Webb.
