UConn Huskies junior guard Jalen Adams was involved in a crash while racing motorized scooters Wednesday night. Adams fled the scene of the incident and is being charged with a misdemeanor for evading responsibility. He is due to appear in Rockville Superior Court on November 21, as first reported by the New Haven Register’s David Borges.
There is no word yet on what sort of punishment Adams may receive from the law, UConn or head coach Kevin Ollie. The star guard who led the Huskies in scoring and assists per game last year may end up missing some time early in the season as a result of this infraction. Luckily, he was not injured in the crash.
Adams was suspended from practice today and will be evaluated on a day-to-day basis by Ollie. It is unclear whether he will play in Friday's season opener against Colgate.
