On Thursday, SNY announced additions to their UConn men’s and women’s basketball broadcasts for this season. Throughout the year, fans can still watch on television but now have the option to watch on the NBC Sports App for authenticated subscribers. This app is available on Apple iOS and Apple TV, Android, Amazon Fire, Chromecast, Roku, Windows 10, Xbox and certain Samsung devices.
SNY will broadcast 16 UConn games this season, most notably the home opener on Nov. 17 against Cal and the PK80 matchup on Nov. 25 against Michigan State.
In addition to game broadcasts, SNY will also have pre-game, halftime and postgame shows for select games.
After the Cal game, SNY will show a new episode of Huskies All-Access, which gives a behind-the-scenes look at the Huskies preseason, including the team’s trip to Italy.
On Jan. 9 at 9:30 pm, a new episode of Geno’s Legacy will also give fans a look at UConn’s trip to Italy, but with a focus on the head coach. In a similar vein, SNY will continue with a sixth season of The Geno Auriemma Show, hosted by Justine Ward.
Last year was one of the most-watched UConn women’s basketball seasons on SNY, as they beat out both the Nets and Knicks a handful of times. With so much coverage focused on the Huskies this year, SNY is clearly hoping that popularity continues.
