Senior linebacker Junior Joseph led the UConn Huskies with 11 tackles in last week’s win over Temple to go along with one sack and two pass break-ups. He had seven tackles, 1 TFL, in the win over Tulsa and also made the key pass break-up to seal the game on the final play.
The Golden Hurricane brought a pretty good offense which seemed to be operating on all cylinders after dropping 45 points on Houston the previous week. Joseph’s defense was up for the challenge of the top-40 offense after the confidence-building win at Temple. Given the promising offensive performance to match, there’s hope this year could end up going better than previously expected.
After the game, head coach Randy Edsall shared his praise for the senior from Pennsylvania and some teammates echoed those sentiments. We also hear from Joseph himself about his drive to stay on the field and to make plays when his team needs them.
