Live Updates: UConn Football vs. Tulsa | 12 p.m., ESPNU

The Huskies are playing their first-ever game against Tulsa on Homecoming weekend.

The UConn Huskies are at the Rent ready to take on the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Randy Edsall’s squad is coming off a nice win over Temple last week but needs to avoid taking a step back today in front of the home crowd. Tulsa is coming off a good win of its own, having beaten Houston 45-17 after putting up 21 points in the 4th quarter.

We’ve got the depth chart and big preview for pre-game reading. Be sure to check in here for updates and to share your thoughts on the game.

1st Quarter

10:38 - One drive for each team and a whole lot of nothing so far.

5:15 - More nothing. UConn has 26 yards through two drives. Tulsa has moved the ball a bit more, with 70 yards on two drives, but we are still scoreless at this point.

0:44 - UConn gets to 1st and goal after a 51-yard reception by Arkeel Newsome. Bryant Shirreffs faked a run up the middle and then hit Newsome in the seam for a big gain on the catch-and-run. The drive stalled at the goal line unfortunately and the Huskies had to settle for a field goal by Michael Tarbutt from 35 yards out. It would have been a shorter field goal attempt if not for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on Randy Edsall. 3-0 UConn.

2nd Quarter

3:58 - No change in score. Nobody’s doing too well. Arkeel Newsome is out for the rest of the game. Looks like he got injured after the big reception.

END 1st Half - Tulsa misses a late field goal and we go into the half with UConn up 3-0.

Tarbutt gets the game’s only points of the first half on this 35-yard field goal.

3rd Quarter

15:00 - 2nd half is underway

10:13 - Touchdown UConn! Huskies drive 79 yards in 12 plays, with a 33-yard pass from Shirreffs to Quayvon Skanes on 3rd down as one of them. Nate Hopkins punched it in from one yard out for the score. 10-0 UConn

8:00 - Another UConn touchdown! Shirreffs hits Hergy Mayala on a flea-flicker for 80 yards. 17-0 UConn

4th Quarter

13:38 - Two straight sacks, including one on 4th down, gives UConn another great stop and field position. Huskies get a field goal. 20-0 UConn

7:09 - Tulsa on the board with a TD, 75-yard drive capped off by an 8-yard rush from Shamari Brooks. Huskies also allowed plays of 20 and 35 yards on the drive. 20-7 UConn

2:16 - Gulp. Another Tulsa touchdown. 20-14. Hopefully they don’t have enough time left to complete the comeback.

0:00 - UConn holds on for the win, 20-14.
