Geno Auriemma on men’s basketball’s FBI probe

Just a few weeks after an FBI investigation exposed corruption and other charges at schools like Louisville, Auburn, and Arizona, many involved in college basketball are still wrapping their heads around the investigation and its implications. At Monday’s American Athletic Conference Tip-Off event in Philadelphia, UConn women’s basketball head coach offered his two cents on the matter.

While Auriemma was not necessarily surprised about the investigation, he noted the magnitude of the situation. This time around, the punishments will not be just scholarship limits or postseason bans - there’s a chance jail time is in play for some of the biggest offenders. Auriemma also touched on the possibility of something like this happening in the world of women’s basketball.
