UConn Men’s Soccer Drops Out of Coaches Poll; Women Move Up One Spot

Loss to Louisville drops UConn men’s soccer out of the poll while UConn women’s soccer moves up after a two-win weekend.

The NCAA men’s and women’s soccer polls came out on Tuesday and we find the UConn men’s soccer team out of the poll while the UConn women’s soccer team has moved up one spot.

After a win over Cornell last night and with a loss to Louisville on Friday night, the UConn men’s soccer team (3-1) is back where they started the season, on the outside looking in. The Huskies are the first team receiving votes.

There is no men’s soccer team from the American Athletic Conference ranked in the top 25. The Temple Owls, SMU Mustangs, and South Florida Bulls are in the also receiving votes category.

Ray Reid’s squad will be on the road for its next two games as they’ll take on Georgetown this Saturday in Washington, DC and No. 1 Notre Dame in South Bend, IN next Tuesday, September 13.


With wins over Pacific on Friday night and CCSU Sunday afternoon, the UConn women’s soccer team has moved up one spot from No. 18 to No. 17.

The South Florida Bulls are the highest ranked team from the American in the Top 25 as they moved up six spots from No. 20 to No. 14. There are no other AAC teams ranked nor in the receiving votes to category.

The Huskies out on the road for a Thursday night matchup against No. 1 Florida State. The Seminoles are coming off a 1-0 loss to South Alabama on Monday night. The Huskies then return home on Sunday for a 2 p.m. matchup with the Stony Brook Seawolves.
